Run Stephanie Run!

Stephanie Galvani is a 37 year-old wife, mother and teacher who will be running the 2014 Boston Marathon for the first time. She has decided to raise money to support the Newton 9-11 Memorial and we are very grateful for that. She is also running to honor the memory of Amy Toyen, one of the eight Newton residents whose names are inscribed on the memorial. To donate and to read more about why she is running, please visit www.runstephanierun.com.

Marathon Daffodil Planting

On Sunday, October 20,  9am – 2pm, we will be joining the effort to honor the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing by planting daffodils along the Boston Marathon route in Newton. We need to let them know how many people will be there.  The holes will be dug by Parks and Rec so all we have to do is plant the bulbs.
Please contact Sande Young at  Ssyspts33@aol.com if you would like to participate.
Please let us know as soon as possible if you can make it.
The planting will be somewhere on Commonwealth Avenue and we will update this post as soon as we know.
For more information on this effort, please see the following article.
