Stephanie Galvani is a 37 year-old wife, mother and teacher who will be running the 2014 Boston Marathon for the first time. She has decided to raise money to support the Newton 9-11 Memorial and we are very grateful for that. She is also running to honor the memory of Amy Toyen, one of the eight Newton residents whose names are inscribed on the memorial. To donate and to read more about why she is running, please visit www.runstephanierun.com.
Board member Ginny Gardner recently discussed the memorial on her NewTV show Virginia’s Views and Vibes. Appearing on the show were President Sande Young, Newton Police Captain Marc Gramada, and Citizen Assistance Officer for the City of Newton Aaron Goldman. The show can be seen here.

Yesterday was the dedication ceremony for the memorial. It was the culmination of many months of efforts. We thank those who attended yesterday, particularly the families, Mayor Warren, members of Newton’s Fire and Police departments and other city employees and officials. The memorial would not been possible without the efforts and support of hundreds of our neighbors. You all have our deepest thanks.
